Celebrating the Ride,

One Trail at a Time

Welcome to Trail Nutz—a mountain biking podcast for people who simply love to ride. I’m Marc, and mountain biking has been a passion of mine for over 30 years. Whether you’ve been hitting the trails for decades or are just getting into it, Trail Nutz is all about real riders with real stories, focused on the joy of riding.

My journey started when I was around 12 or 13 years old, long before mountain biking became what it is today. Back then, we didn’t have the fancy gear or well-maintained trails you see now—it was all about cutting rough paths and having fun. I’ll never forget my first “real” mountain bike: a green GT Timberline with some old-school RockShox. It wasn’t much by today’s standards, but it was my ticket to adventure. From riding with my local bike shop, Bike Works, in Saint John, NB, to racing in events across the Atlantic provinces, mountain biking became a part of who I am.

Over the years, my passion for riding never wavered, even when life got in the way. I relocated to Ontario for work, started a family, and found myself riding more for fun than for competition. But mountain biking always had a way of pulling me back in. Whether it was joining a 24-hour race at Albion Hills in Ontario or simply exploring new trails on camping trips, I was always looking for my next ride.

Last summer, something changed. My youngest child got into mountain biking, and it reignited my passion. Riding together, with our Australian Shepherd, Blueberry, tagging along, reminded me of why I love this sport so much. It’s not just about the ride itself; it’s about the experiences, the memories, and the community that mountain biking creates.

That’s why I started Trail Nutz. This podcast isn’t about pushing the limits or chasing extreme stunts. It’s about celebrating the everyday riders—the dads trying to stay in shape, the kids just getting started, and the people who pour their heart into building and maintaining local trails. I’m here to talk with folks who’ve been running events for years, bike shop owners who’ve seen it all, and anyone who’s passionate about riding. These are the stories that matter—the ones that make mountain biking accessible and relatable to everyone.

If you’re looking for a podcast that’s raw, real, and all about the love of riding, you’ll feel right at home here. Trail Nutz is for anyone who loves to ride, whether you’re out there solo, bringing your family along, or just trying to find some peace of mind out in nature.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you’ll stick around to hear some stories from the trail. If you’re like me, you’ll find that mountain biking isn’t just a sport—it’s a way of life.

What I’m Riding

I’ve rode a lot of different bikes over the years - GT, Trek, Opus, Norco, but I seem to keep coming back to the Trek line. No sponsorship, landed here on my own. I remember the first Trek I got was a Trek Fuel 100 from 2002 and was instantly in love. Today I am riding these 2 beauties on and off the trails. Gravel counts as trails too, right?
